OUR PHILOSOPHY
At Deep-Tech Computing, we owe a significant part of our success to the Open Source community. Open Source has revolutionized technology, enabling collaboration, innovation, and accessibility for all. We align with the principles of the Open Source Initiative (OSI) and are proud contributors and beneficiaries of the movement.
WHY OPEN SOURCE MATTERS
The Open Source movement has empowered humanity with tools and technologies that are accessible, transparent, and adaptable. The modern world is indebted to this community for fostering innovation and inclusivity.
THE
OPEN
SOURCE
DEFINITION
Open Source is more than just access to source code. It is about creating an ecosystem of transparency, collaboration, and adaptability.
Below are the principles defined by the Open Source Initiative (OSI) that we uphold:
Free Redistribution
The license allows software to be freely sold or given away. No royalties or fees are required.
Source Code Availability
Source code must be included and distributed in both compiled and source forms. It must be accessible at minimal or no cost, with unobfuscated and modifiable code.
Derived Works
Modifications and derivative works are permitted and can be distributed under the original license terms.
Integrity of the Author’s Source Code
Modifications to the source code may be restricted, but "patch files" can be provided for alterations. Modified works can be distributed but may require a different name or version number.
No Discrimination Against Persons or Groups
Licenses must not discriminate against any individual or group.
No Discrimination Against Fields of Endeavor
The software must be usable in any field, such as business or research.
Distribution of License
The rights granted by the license must extend to all recipients without needing additional agreements.
License Independence
The license rights must not be tied to the software being part of a specific distribution.
No Restrictions on Other Software
The license must not impose restrictions on other software distributed with it.
Technology Neutrality
Licenses must be neutral and not rely on specific technologies or interfaces.
OUR CONTRIBUTIONS
We actively contribute to Open Source projects that drive the modern digital ecosystem forward.
Some of the notable projects we’ve contributed to include:
Django: Ensuring seamless and scalable back-end development.
Kubernetes: Advancing container orchestration for cloud-native applications.
Linux Kernel: Strengthening the backbone of countless systems worldwide.
Additionally, we closely collaborate with and align our goals with prominent organizations like:
The Linux Foundation
OpenStack Foundation
Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF)
Our work is rooted in the belief that Open Source is not just a tool but a philosophy that fosters innovation and inclusivity
